The Australia Day.

I’m not really a fan of the radio, but I am especially not a fan of Triple J. I listen to the radio sometimes, but that is only when I leave my iPod somewhere and when I get sick of my laptops low quality speakers. When I do listen to the radio, I listen to anything from Triple M and Mix FM when I am looking for my old rock fix, and then I listen to Nova or SAFM when I want my new hits fix, then there’s just Fresh FM which I listen to when I just want to party. My lack of listening to the radio, especially has led me to be oblivious that there is a Triple J top hundred songs of the year that plays on Australia Day. Now just so you know I am less of a hating on Triple J kind of guy and a more hating on Triple J people kind of guy if you know what I mean, and if you don’t, let me explain in the next paragraph that you will see after I press enter, and then press it again for a second time; breaking the page into two sections.

If you haven’t noticed already, people who exclusively listen to Triple J are dick heads who think they are better than people who listen to any other station. I remember back in the day where I went to school, as in last year, as in two thousand and nine. We were in art, my most hated class of all classes ever of my life ever. The station being listened to was something that wasn’t Triple J, like it was a normal station that was playing Katy Perry, so my bad mood that I was in because I was in art with Ms Moore had been slightly elevated due to the high level of awesome that comes out of Katy Perry and her music. It was just as the song was hitting the chorus, also known as the best bit of pretty much every song before I heard the sound of radio station static as someone was changing the station. I look up to see Salome changing the radio station, changing the sound of Waking Up In Vegas to the sound of static. Salome then looked up at Catherine Story and called out asking her what the station is for Triple J, then the static changed to some shit ass Aussie Hip Hop song that sounded like absolute ass to microphone crap and I was just so mad.

I then recall Catherine saying that that song was shit, and then I told her that she should put it back to whatever it was on before because I was in agreeance with her, and then she had this huge ass go at me about how I am a loser because I don’t listen to Triple J. Well I’m sorry for not being a try hard alternative person, but sometimes I just fucking like to fucking party, and Aussie Hip Hop and a guy screeching over the sound of his shit ass sounding guitar just doesn’t cut it. Triple J people are the most arrogant of people; sometimes they play great music on that station, but most of the time they just play the most random shit that I wouldn’t even call music, like that one time that they played this so called song that was just like, animal noises over the sound of a guy playing some instrument; what the fuck kind of a person can get enjoyment out of listening to that?

Anyway, I wasn’t going to get this into talking about Triple J people but that is my reason for not listening to Triple J, just because I hate the people. I hate most of the music that they play as well but mainly the people that listen to it and think they are alternative and radical and shit; fuck off. Today is Australia Day though, and over the day I managed to hear a good amount of the top hundred and I was enjoying it. I actually knew most of the songs, as in like, vast, vast majority of the songs were just great songs that I know and love, with the occasional acoustic guitar muffled by animal noises over the top but sometimes you just got to love that… not really…

This post was, as in this blog was meant to be about Australia Day, but it really turned out being about the music that I listened to whilst I did my Australia Daying, and a little bit of hatred towards people who listen to Triple J… as in actually most of this was but sometimes you just have to hate people and then write about it and just see how it goes. Honestly, I fucking love that I live in Australia, it has to be the best country in the world, and I know that because I have been overseas once and it was to Vanuatu, and Australia was fucking so much better than Vanuatu, so by the process of elimination, Australia is the best country in the world and I hope that you had a fucking great Australia Day, because you are fucking awesome.

Triple J play REAL music, but I guess you wouldn't know anything about that, would you?

why would someone post a comment and then say they're anonymous? do they just not have the guts to say who they are or is it just a funny thing to do?
triple j played crap 20 years ago and I guess they always will.

I'm with you ... Triple J is shit and always has been, it's full of alternative crappy music and yes people who think they are different have that as a point of differentiation, when in fact they have no idea

anonymous kind of proved your point there, people who listen exclusively to triple j are the most annoying arrogant kind of people.

i agree completely, haha thankyou for saying what i was thinking!

TRIPLE FUCKING J IS THE BEST- just wait a few months and then you'll hear the j's dregs on your shit awful station.

I once overheard you saying that you loved the song 'Electric Feel' in art and I laughed because we were already sick to death of hearing it played on triple J months before it would have even touched your ears. We clearly win the radio wars Nick Cosma, don't be jealous, Australia day is not about hate.

Cool. Oh and thanks for growing a spine and using your actual name for this comment.

Woah, you actually just blatantly attacked Cathy & Salome in this post.. indirectly saying you hate them, I mean really.

'Try-hard alternative' types listen to Triple J do they?

I listen to triple j because I like the music- I love folky and acoustic, I love experimental and electronic, I love good indie rock. And to be honest stations like Fresh, SAFM and nova just don't play my preferred artists.

And yes I must agree with Cathy; it pisses me off when Nova flogs songs that Triple j's been playing for months and months, and suddenly everyone loves this 'new' song- case in point, the temper trap's sweet disposition.

Katy Perry? Ha. Sony snatched her up because she has perfect teeth and hair and breasts and could belt out synth-pop, bubblegum songs to sate the masses. Her music is just as plastic as her face.

I like real music, hate me, I really don't give a fuck, but really, don't post blogs using names and directly attack my friends.

And yes I'm using my name at risk of backlash because I'm not scared of that, this is my opinion and I won't hide behind an anonymous persona, unlike a certain someone who continues to post negative comments on MY blog. I wonder who that is..?

Well you're obviously saying that you think it is me commenting your blog when it isn't, the only time I have ever commented your blog was that time when people were abusing me on it for some reason and I thought that it was my duty to respond.

I think you should just tell your friends to stop abusing my blog because I know who they are, I mean I always have but now I just really know like, for sure. Unless of coarse the person anonymously abusing me is the person that I have been told it has been the entire time but I didn't even believe it; you.

I didn't really abuse Salmoe and Cathy in this blog, and I didn't really say that I hate them. I said that I hate Triple J people and the way they act, I mean you proved it again in what you said just then but yeah, cool! The only reason I used their names was because I was telling a story, using an example, and they were the people that happened to be the people that were the people that were them.

Well who do you think it is? Because it's pretty damn obvious you think it's cathy and salome, because you indirectly say you hate them in this- 'I hate people who listen to triple j, salome and cathy listen to triple j..'

If you didn't intend it, it really does come across as your method of 'revenge' or an attack on them, and cosma, you really can't write blogs that outrightly attack/bully people, it's called defamation and you can get into a lot of trouble, so stop.

I do NOT know who is abusing your blog, I do not care who is abusing your blog, I am so over this whole thing to the point of I can't be fucked with writing my blog anymore, because just like you I get shit on mine. The reason I thought it was you, you 'liked' my status on fb attacking the people who were doing it. It just seemed suspicious, as I'm sure you can understand.

Ps I'm completely sure it's not cathy or salome abusing your blog.. they just wouldn't, if you knew them.

and if you think it's me, you're very wrong, I try and avoid it considering the shit I get for 'urggh you're competing with cosma's blog'.

No. I'm not. fuck people are so damn immature.

Yo Claire baby i'm not too fussed about it, if Nick wants to diss triple j people then fair enough, it's his blog, names probably shouldn't be used but each to his own. I always thought the radio wars were a bit of fun rather than something that caused a lot of internal conflict, I didn't realise it was actually making you so upset nick. note - we had to listen to your music too. Anyway i haven't been posting shit on your blog. i would only say something if you had written something racist/intolerant, I wouldn't do it anonymously, and even then, I rarely read your blog so you would probably get away with it. Peace.

Cosma said...

Trust me when I say that I don't get upset by it, I find it funny as. It seems Claire is the one who is getting the most upset by it all.
